51勛圖轎煤App and Bute Council is working in partnership with a number of organisations in the area to prepare plans to welcome refugee families fleeing conflict in Ukraine.
The council has a distinguished track record for supporting refugees, having already resettled 35 Syrian families on the Isle of Bute since 2015.
Arrangements are now being made to support the UK Governments Homes for Ukraine Campaign, which encourages people to register an interest in providing a temporary home to a Ukrainian family for a minimum of six months.
To date, there have been many expressions of interest in 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute, and the Council is currently awaiting further details from the government on how this will operate in Scotland and the role the Council will have. We will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.
The Scottish government have also announced a Super Sponsor Scheme allowing people to apply to host without prior matching. You can read more about this on the Scottish Government website:
