With thousands of young people from across 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute returning to school today after the summer holidays, 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute Council’s Policy Lead for Education, Councillor Yvonne McNeilly, would like to wish them the very best of luck:
“From those entering their final year of secondary school, to our primary ones who are just starting out on their educational journey, I would like to wish each and every one of them lots of happiness and success in the new school term.
“I ...am extremely proud of all our staff and pupils for everything they have achieved in the last year. 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute’s exam results speak for themselves, with figures from the SQA showing that our results are higher than the national average. 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute is therefore bucking the trend.
“This is a tremendous achievement which could not have been achieved without the hard work and determination of our pupils; the dedication and support shown by our teaching staff; and the encouragement given by parents and guardians.
“We want the very best education for our children and young people to ensure their have every opportunity to be the best they can be. It’s clear that overall attainment in 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute is on the rise and I look forward to seeing what the next 12 months has to offer. I hope everyone has a great school year.â€
