Back 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute - respond to rural growth deal consultation

If you care about the future of 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute, please take just a couple of minutes to help bring millions of pounds of investment to the area by answering this short consultation.

51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute Council, along with public, private and voluntary sector partners, is putting together a bid designed to attract UK and Scottish Government investment, through a rural growth deal.

As part of this, the Council is asking people, through a consultation which begins today, if they are in favour of a rural growth deal, and how they think investment would make most difference for the people and businesses who live and work across 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute.

Councillor Aileen Morton, Leader of 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute Council, said:

“51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute deserves a prosperous future. It deserves investment. A rural growth deal could bring that.

A deal wouldn’t bring everything everyone wants. However it would be a turning point in building a thriving future for the area.

Along with our partners, we are putting together a proposal for discussion with the UK and Scottish Governments.

Areas across Scotland are enjoying the benefits of city deals.

51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute is the second largest mainland local authority area in Scotland, with the highest number of inhabited islands.

We are working for a deal that will address our challenges for economic growth by developing our key opportunities for success.

Public backing and in-put will play an important part in making a deal happen.  I would encourage anyone who cares about the future of 51³Ô¹ÏÃâ·ÑApp and Bute to take a moment to answer this consultation.â€
