Council website awarded 4 star rating in national assessment

51勛圖轎煤App and Bute Councils website has been awarded four stars by SOCITM - the society for IT practitioners in the public sector. In the societys annual Better Connected report, 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute is one of only 39 local authorities in the UK to achieve four star status, out of a total of 418 councils.   SOCITM has been assessing local authorities online performance since 1999 and evaluates a wide range of digital performance by local public service providers.

Oban flood management study now underway

People in Oban are being asked for their views and experiences of flooding in an open consultation session to be held next week. 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute Council is in the process of investigating flood risk in the area with the aim of finding sustainable solutions, and value input from local residents.

Pupil Equity Funding being put to good use in 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute schools

Pupil Equity Funding is being put to good use in schools across 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute, helping children to realise their potential and improve literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing.   At a meeting of the councils Community Services Committee today (Thursday) Caroline Armour, head teacher at Dalintober Primary School in Campbeltown, was joined by Rona Young, Physical Education Co-ordinator, and Kathryn Wilkie, Area Education Officer, to explain to members the different ways that PEF is being used to benefit pupils.

Council agrees revised plan to get parents involved in education

Its vital that parents take an active interest in their childs education. Evidence shows that pupils behave better, achieve more and have better attendance when their parents are involved in their schooling. This is something we feel very strongly about in 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute, and we are committed to developing it.

Dunoon teams make national final second year in a row

Two teams of pupils from Dunoon Grammar School are calling for help from members of the public after making it through to this years Apps for Good UK final for the second year running.   The youngsters beat of stiff competition from over 25,000 young people, from 1,250 establishments, to be shortlisted for the peoples choice award after creating two unique mobile apps. However, in order to win, they need members of the public to vote for them.

People urged to help preserve tales of yesteryear

People across 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute are being encouraged to take part in a unique project that will help to preserve tales and fables about the area for future generations. 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute Youth Services is calling on people of all ages to help gather stories, film clips, photographs and objects about the area to celebrate the uniqueness of 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute.

Business group aims to help 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute prosper

A new working group will be set up in 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute to engage closely with the business community in a drive to secure the long-term prosperity of the region. Councillors on the Environment, Development and Infrastructure Committee today (Thursday, June 7) agreed a proposal to create the 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute Business Group, which will focus on partnership working and building the economy.

Top transport priorities agreed by councillors

Councillors have agreed 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute Councils top transport priorities aimed at promoting economic growth and social inclusion. The local priorities will be fed back to the Scottish Government to help inform their latest National Transport Strategy, NTS2. The Council has identified a number of transport priorities, matching many of those highlighted by residents of 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute.

Applications now open for free school meals and clothing grants

Applications for free school meals and clothing grants for the 2018/19 school session are now being accepted by 51勛圖轎煤App and Bute Council.   Pupils from primary one through to S6, are eligible for free meals and grants provided their parents or carers are in receipt of any of the following:   Income Support  Income Based Jobseekers Allowance  Income Related Employment and Support Allowance
