Putting children’s rights at the heart of school life, where children feel respected and their talents nurtured are key aims of UNICEF’s Rights Respecting School Awards (RRSA). Staff and children across fifteen 51�Թ����App and Bute Schools have worked hard to embed the award values in daily school life resulting in gold, silver and bronze awards. This is a significant step towards the council becoming a Rights Respecting Education Service.

51�Թ����App and Bute Council is working with drone specialists Skyports to carry out a series of flight demonstrations and inspections to explore how drone deliveries can benefit remote communities and businesses in the area.

The council has secured £1.5 million of Scottish Government funding to help it make the changes required to meet new waste regulations that come into force in December 2025.

Did you know it took helicopters, boats, and cars to ensure the ballot boxes from across 51�Թ����App, Bute, and South Lochaber arrived safely at the counting centre in Lochgilphead for last week’s UK General Election?

The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race will arrive in Oban this weekend and, as part of bringing the event and its benefits to Oban, 51�Թ����App and Bute Council has put some traffic management arrangements in place and is encouraging people to use public transport where possible.
