51�Թ����App and Bute Council confirmed its ongoing commitment to promoting Gaelic language and culture throughout the area. However, following an extensive 10-week public consultation, at full council today, Councillors agreed not to pursue a dedicated Gaelic School at this time.

The latest round of 51�Թ����App and Bute Council’s Strategic Events and Festivals Fund opens for applications on Monday 7 October.

A new Community Hub in Kilcreggan opens on 1 October, making it easier for residents to access a range of council resources and information.

Fourteen community projects in 51�Թ����App and Bute have received a share of £365,000 from the Scottish Government's Community-Led Local Development Fund (CLLD).

Council measures to encourage and expand the use of Gaelic are continuing to deliver benefits for young people and communities across 51�Թ����App and Bute.

Priorities and plans are already set out to keep 51�Թ����App and Bute open for business over the coming winter and these were approved by the council’s Environment, Development and Infrastructure committee on 12 September.

Helping to sustain small businesses and community organisations, making 51�Թ����App and Bute more investor-ready, and improving the area’s towns and villages as places to live, work and visit - these are just some of the benefits from £45 million of investment secured by 51�Թ����App and Bute Council.

Households across 51�Թ����App and Bute are doing their bit to help save money, protect services and support climate-friendly measures by recycling, but recent studies by Zero Waste Scotland show we could all still do a bit more.

The council’s Environment, Development and Infrastructure Committee agreed on Thursday 12 September to pursue full funding for its ferry service as a way of best meeting the needs of island communities.

Providing a renewed focus to celebrate and deliver on 51�Թ����App and Bute’s key strengths and embrace the opportunities of its rural, natural resource-based economy – this is the purpose of the council’s revised Economic Strategy Action Plan for 2024 – 2027.
